My freind Whiz #27, and I have been talking on this subject a lot and here are som major problems with their technology. 1. Holodeck-- What happens if two people are in the holodeck and walk in oposite directions? Wouldn't one hit the wall? Also if you ate in the holodeck and came out, the food you ate woul cease to exist. 2. Gravity-- Most things in space are in free fall- Zero Gravity. How come no one ever floats? Even when Geordi says "Captain we don't have enough power for life support, everyone's feet are still on the ground. Why not divert power from the gravity producing section? Well, not enough money for special effects. I know keeping my feet on the ground is more imporyant then breathing. 3. Matter replicators-- With these, industry stops! You can use raw energy and make anything, usually food, but also glasses and plates, so probably anything. Why would we need anything else? You by one of these and never < >Pause< have to cook agaain. People in Somalia can be fed by just hooking up a solar panel to one. Farmers are out of business. If you are in a car and it goes from 0 to 60 in 3 seconds you would be thrown backwars ver quickly. Well the enterprise goes from full stop to warp nine in like 3 seconds. All the time the captain is like standing up. Also those turns they make and they don't even sway from side to side. Anyway. There should also be better weapons then they account for. If they have some way of artificial gravity, tractor beams, and transporters, they could make some awesome weapons. They could beam critical pieces of sgips over, or beam part of the other captains brain over and make him a vegetable. Transporters- This is a fun one. How come a transporter can do all these strange things? Like how scotty put himself in the transporter for like 200 years. Or how the transporter was used to change captain picard into an adult after he was made into a kid? They could start selling rejuvinating things.
