This page describes how to get the VGA-out to work on the iBook2 with
r128 graphics (This is a 2001 G3 iBook with dual USB-ports).

My patch is just a reworking of the patch developed by owen _at_
stampflee.com. Owen did all the hard reverse-engineering work.
Here is my patch:
Once you've patched the kernel, you have to reboot. Then you'll need
to use the m3mirror utility
(from benh) to turn on the external display.
Without the patch, you can enable the monitor mirroring but the display
will be wavy and unreadable.
I'll attempt to get this patch merged into future kernels.
