This is a re-imagining of various parts of the ZX Spectrum demo "Tiratok" by deMarche shown at CAFe 2019.

Implementation / Differences

System Requirements

Apple II
You need 64k of RAM and a Mockingboard. It uses timer interrupts so won't work without the Mockingboard
It is known to work under AppleWin and MAME

Full 6502 assembly code available in the git repository. You'll need cc65 to build it.

Development Notes

PoC notes -- 10 June 2026

Came across Tiratok and as always ZX Spectrum graphics map really well to Apple IIe. Found the source code to see if I could implement it. Ended up going with the javascript version rather than trying to figure out the Z80 code (with russian comments!). Managed to convert the javascript to C, and dump the frames in Apple II format and re-use the Scroll Block code. The end result is really nice.
